  HOME

The principle aim of Lochpots School is to educate each child so that he/she is able to achieve his/her maximum potential. To help achieve this the school aims to:

  • Provide a rich and happy learning environment.
  • Promote an atmosphere where the child feels confident in tackling new situations.
  • Encourage strong links between home, school and the wider community.

Against this background a curriculum will be delivered which:-

  • Provides breadth and balance in line with Aberdeenshire policies and national Guidelines.
  • Builds upon the children's previous experiences and understanding.
  • Caters for individuals by providing a progression in knowledge, skills concepts and attitudes.

By working within this curriculum the children will work towards:-

  • Building skills and concepts throughout the curriculum.
  • Being receptive to new ideas.
  • Developing independent thinking and learning.

Meanwhile the atmosphere created within the school will :-

  • Encourage the children to have respect for themselves, others and the environment.
  • Develop the children's self confidence and self respect.
  • Promote in the children a desire to help the community.
